Five Aurora Public Schools students were recently named 2021 Daniels Scholars!
This recognition highlights each student’s outstanding leadership skills, exceptional character and service to the community.
The Daniels Fund provides students the opportunity to obtain a four-year college education at any accredited nonprofit college or university in the United States with full financial and personal support throughout the process. The prestigious scholarship covers all required tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies and other miscellaneous college expenses.
Students persevered through an extremely competitive and rigorous selection process that involved thousands of applicants from Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado.
We couldn’t be more proud of their wonderful accomplishment!
Shannon Fliegel, APS Options Program
“The Daniels Fund is a huge turning point in my life. This scholarship will not only allow me to go to an amazing school, but also help to provide experiences and opportunities that would not have been possible before. I cannot emphasize enough how blessed and honored I am to have received it and represent Bill Daniels!”
Roxette De Jesus Primero,
Aurora Central High School
“As a first-generation American, and the first person in my family to go to college, it has always been a dream of mine to pursue higher education. The only thing holding me back was how to pay for it, but with this opportunity, I know that the possibilities are limitless. I am excited to see what life has in store for me as a Daniels Scholar and a soon-to-be college undergraduate!”
Jimena Sanchez, Aurora Central High School
“The Daniels Fund opportunity means I get to go to college and do what I aspire to do, and that is to go into the medical field and help others. I think that my diligence and persistence got me to where I am today. Those of us who received the scholarship can do so much to help make the world and our communities a better place, and we have Bill Daniels to thank for that.”
Blessed Boahemaa Asare,
Rangeview High School
“When we found out that I was a scholar, my family and I were brought to tears. Everything that my family and I worried and prayed about concerning paying for college vanished, and that realization brought so much joy and peace. I am blessed with such an amazing honor and I am excited to succeed with no limits!”
Jayah Lea Caley,
Rangeview High School
“Becoming a Daniels Scholar felt like such a breath of fresh air. I have a sister who is just one year older than me and is going through her first year of college. I am beyond thankful to have this huge financial burden removed and I am excited to work with everyone in the Daniels Fund program.”
