It is important that students have the support needed to transition into life after high school. As we celebrate College and Career Success Month, we want to highlight our college and career centers.
Through the generous support of the community, the APS Foundation has funded and launched a College and Career Center in five APS high schools: Aurora Central, Gateway, Hinkley, Rangeview and Vista PEAK Preparatory.
These centers provide 96% of all APS high school students with critical information and guidance on everything from understanding high school graduation requirements to filling out college applications. Students can also learn how to apply for financial aid, pursue internship opportunities and navigate boundless potential career options. The centers are staffed with dedicated professionals who help students prepare for college and career success.
Since 2014, these college and career centers have served more than 11,000 students and helped secure more than $59 million in scholarships. The centers have also played an essential role in boosting the district’s 4-year graduation rates, which have increased nearly 25% in the last five years.
