As the saying goes, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” That is why Aurora Public Schools is committed to ensuring every APS student has a plan for his or her future. This goal, as outlined in the APS 2020: Shaping the Future strategic plan, comes to life every time a student creates an Individual Career and Academic Plan.

ICAPs detail each student’s career goal along with the education and experience necessary to make their dream a reality. Students complete the ICAP within 90 days of entering APS. With guidance from school staff, industry partners and higher education programs, students refine their plans throughout their academic careers.

Many schools, including Rangeview High and Sable Elementary, have integrated quality ICAP processes, college preparation and career readiness into their school cultures. This ICAP implementation breeds a generation of ambitious youth who believe anything is possible if they plan properly.

Below are students who have a clearer vision of their future as a result of their plans.
